Wow! Brilliant stuff there, david. Espicially very fond with most of the Hornby Merchandise, too
Thanks! I've become a bit obsessed with the Hornby recently; it's started to take over my collection. As I really like the old packaging (i.e. that the single engines are in on the blue shelf) I was thinking of getting the newer models like Henry, Arry, Bert, Toad, etc and getting spares of the boxes to house them in, which of course would mean having to buy doubles of models like Thomas and Jame for the boxes.... I think I'm obsessed with packaging lol.
David these are fantasic pictures of your TTTE Collection my favorite pictures is all your Thomas Hornby Trains, Thomas Books, Thomas Toys, Thomas Ertl,Thomas Miniture sets etc. your one big Thomas Fan Dude
Thanks. I've got another 4 or 5 to post when I have the time.
Sir, I salute you! That collection makes the rest of us look like amatuers! I especially admire your Hornby set. I too didn't know about the "Old Coach" or "Fish Van". And I thought I was lucky just to have the Breakdown Crane and James Train set!
Some of the pictures seem to have come out to dark, this is due to poor lighting and low battery power. I've taken out Pic 9 because you can't really see much in it, and it's all viewable in other parts instead.
That's incredable CPK. I notice that you have the imfamous ERTL Duck in the Diesel packaging. I also like all of the unopened ERTLs in rare packaging. I didn't know that so many of those engines came in that limited edition Magic Railroad packaging. The Japanese videos are cool too. The plush Thomas and Bertie is interesting- I've never seen those before. The shinny limited edition ERTLs are great. I only have Thomas and Duncan. Maybe Percy too.
On the top of page 4 is that an empty Thomas Birthday Cake box? Or does it have a cake in it?
Do you have any Learning Curve engines? I guess there's only so much stuff you can have. I did actually see a few (60th anniversary Henry).
Needless to say, I'm really impressed with your collection, CPK
The cake box is empty - that was my 17th Birthday cake.... I had to eat it fue to weight and hygiene issues.
As for Learning Curve engines, all I have are the Golden Thomas, and 60th Anniversary Henry.
The plush Thomas and Bertie are part of a 4 piece knitting set - Percy and the Fat Controller are in there as well. There is a guide that shows you how to make them, but I picked them up at a bootsale already made, as I'm lazy.
Well, I've still got 2 more metallic ERTLS - Rusty and Duke - to get before I'm finished in that department.
I only spend on Thomas what I make from selling Thomas doubles on ebay (paypal). Hardly any of those ERTL models were bought at RRP; most were in bulk lots working out at £2.50ish each or in discount shops. Our shed homes the whole of my Thomas collection (as Keith pointed out) so it pretty much is a museum.
jjlr: Hey - just another reminder that I don't know where I'd be without you lot. Life may not be easy, but it's folks like all of you and all the positive stuff you do that helps me get through each day of our wonderful lives.
