I have these, well, 2 sets of these, and they are 9 blocks that make 6 scenes.
The first set, made by Jotastar in 1984, depicted scenes from S1, such as James at the station, talking to the Fat Controller, Edward and James, Edward and Percy, James, Thomas and Toby S1 promo shots.
The second set, made by dd (orDEKKERTOYS LTD featured the scenes mentioned above, painted by Owain Bell. Scenes included James, Henry, Percy, Thomas, Gordon, and the Fat Controller in his office, awnsering the telephone.
I've got my (in)famous Thomas purse XD A source of botheration for most of my family, since it makes me stick out and little kids are always running up to me in stores XD Also I have two Thomas bandannas, one is blue and was released in 2004, the other is white with Thomas patterns, like tickets, signals, and little Thomases XD The blue one can be found on Smith-Thompson, and I got the white one at IRM, I think it was released in the 90's, because it has the old Thomas 'puff' logo.
My purse was one of the best things I ever bought, seriously. Got it at TJ-Maxx for $6.50, it has been my handbag for the better part of nearly 18 months ^_^ I've had parents of small children come up to me, and ask where I got it - this often annoys my friend Sandy XD
Oh, lest I forget the Briapatch Thomas trading cards. I nearly had the whole set...there were 100 cards. I loved collecting those, but I think they discontinued them, because I can't find them anymore. There were 75 Character cards, 20 'Adventure' cards, and 5 Foils.
Hehehe, here's a bit of Thomas merchandise that I like - click if you dare! XD
I've got a toy of Lady I'm curious about. The body and wheels are made in purple plastic (some painted gold), and it moves on 4 black wheels underneath. The inside of the cab is blocked out in grey, and on top of the cab is a big square button that squeaks when you press it. Finally, the front and back have big black couplings.
I know a similar one of Thomas used to come with Magic Railroad on video. Were there other characters made to go with it or something?
Some weeks ago, I found that Kentucky Fried Chicken was including Thomas toys in its children's meal; however, they can be bought seperately. It took me weeks to complete the set. This is a picture I took of them:
Something that we came accidentally close to throwing away in August, I actually found an old toy, and I don't know the name of it, but I'll try to describe it: a square of wood, with different pieces shaped like the engines, and you have to fit the engines in with each of the right holes. I wish I knew what it was called, because I'm making it sound more complicated than it is.
Send me a message if you're looking for a voiceover, I'd love to gain some experience!
I'm sure that was the famous documentary made for the 50th anniversary, and shown on BBC in the UK. I have it somewhere on video...
there indeed was a documentary, made by omnibus, had it recorded, though where it is I have know idea, keep hoping someone would upload it to youtube!
Other merchandise, well I have a pewter Thomas Model which i had uploaded into the Railway Series Thread 'My collection' They made other Engines 'Gordon, Henry etc.... i so wish i had got them back then :-(....

zeldatheswordsm: Railway modelling hot take: Daylight under the boiler is overrated in OO, and it might be best to glue acetate shielding behind it on locos that have it to mitigate dust inflow. Especially locos where the body is actually screwed to the chassis.
