I can't let this thread go to waste, so I'll begin by showing what stories/episodes are used in what books. THOMAS 'Thomas & Gordon'; 'Thomas & The Breakdown Train' JAMES 'James & The Coaches'; 'Troublesome Trucks' TOBY 'Toby & The Stout Gentleman'; 'Mrs. Kyndley's Christmas' DONALD & DOUGLAS 'The Missing Coach'; 'The Deputation' SKARLOEY 'Bucking Bronco' TERENCE 'Thomas, Terence & The Snow' BULGY 'Bulgy' CRANKY 'Cranky Bugs' ELIZABETH 'Elizabeth The Vintage Lorry' PERCY 'Percy's Promise' OLIVER 'Escape!' BILL & BEN 'Heroes' MAVIS 'Mavis'; 'Toby's Tightrope' SIR HANDEL 'A Bad Day For Sir Handel' BULSTRODE 'Bulstrode' EDWARD 'Cows!'; 'Old Iron' GORDON 'Edward & Gordon'; 'Gordon's Whistle' DUNCAN 'Passengers & Polish' SALTY 'Salty's Secret' STEPNEY 'Stepney Gets Lost' HENRY 'Coal' DUCK 'Duck Takes Charge'; 'Donald's Duck' PETER SAM 'Special Funnel' HAROLD 'Percy & Harold' EMILY 'Emily's New Coaches'; 'Emily's New Route' DAISY 'Daisy'; 'Percy's Predicament' BERTIE 'Thomas & Bertie' TREVOR 'Saved From Scrap' DIESEL 'Thomas & The Evil Diesel' SPENCER 'Gordon & Spencer'; 'Edward The Great' There are five new releases coming this year. I think they are: - RHENEAS - ANNIE & CLARABEL - GEORGE - 'ARRY & BERT - JACK
I had a flick through the Diesel book the other day. It remains pretty faithful to the original Thomas & The Evil Diesel. It even mentions Diesel goes to help Thomas, otherwise he won't get home. I'd say the only drawback is they don't credit Christopher Awdry anywhere!
Does anyone know why they chose that story? Perhaps they wanted to show that Diesel has a good side in him without using Calling All Engines, as that doesn't entirely revolve around Diesel being good.
Either way, I still think it's a good book. The Sir Handel one is quite good too, but probably only because it has the first Railway Series characters in the collection so far (Agnes, Ruth, Jemima, Lucy and Beatrice.).
Yes, but that's not the entire story though, just enough of it to turn Duncan into a Really Useful Engine. I has hoping for something in it's entirity. We've not had any TV stories for Railway Series characters before, so why start now?
Five new books are planned for Summer 2005, no specified dates have been given, but the next engines cited for the Thomas Story Library following the April 3rd releases will be... Fergus Mighty Mac Rusty Molly Neville
Four out of five of the characters should have VERY predictable stories used! Rusty will be the only one who's got a wide enough range to choose from to make it a surprise!
TheGreenBeetle: Probably not a good comparison

Sleeper Agent: But it does answer the apparently eternal question If you specified 'chicken egg' then it's the chicken as only it can lay a chicken egg and if the egg belongs to the newborn it's the chick's egg (and this could of become a cockerel ).

Nicholas: According to the latest theories, the egg came first containing the first chicken, it being a mutation taking place in a zygote from two proto-chickens around 58,000 years ago, themselves having evolved through thousands of years from theropods.

Nicholas: And, to come full circle, City of Truro was the first steam engine to reach a reported speed of 100mph, but Flying Scotsman was the first steam engine to reach an officially confirmed speed of 100mph.

PercyFan1998: Flying Scotsman was first gang. But I respect the idea of Truro being the possible first but I have my doubts.

Madness: I think the answer to that was mentioned on a show called 'Q.I'.

Gondarth: I keep looking for a release date for All Engines Go. I don't care about the reboot as it is, but I would laugh if it premiered on the day of my wedding (October 16th)

aspiegurl: October 2021's all I know, so it might be your wedding day

The Thomas Cynic: You could have a live screening party!

Gondarth: I would laugh if it is on the same day, but my wedding is on a Saturday, and that seems like a weird day to start airing a new show on Netflix, so I'm not holding my breath. You never know though...

TheGreenBeetle: For Father's Day today, I remembered when he was fond of Duke when I was a kid. So I shared him the video The True Stories & History Of Duke: The History Of TTTE to learn more on Duke. Special thanks to TrainBoy
