From what I've heard the "Golden Rail" thomas models were Japanese, higher-detail ERTLs, with magnets to connect the trains together. Does anyone else have or know about these? Does anyone have any pics?

These things are really cool, I've got Thomas and Annie.
I got them from my grandmothers' house a long time ago (don't have a clue how she managed to get them). We were staying there for a few months in 2000, and she let me keep them when we left. She had Clarabel too, but I couldn't find her when we left.
I assumed, since I had never seen them in stores, that there were only Thomas, Annie and Clarabel. If only I'd seen how many there really are...

I remember way back in the mid-90's when I first saw these. I was infatuated with them. I thought they were actual Ertl products. It wasn't until later through cruising on ebay that I found that these were Bandai models and that the range was much wider. (I also was confused as to why the pictures on the box had siderods, yet the actual models within didn't!) As I bought the whole series, here's a list of those models and sets released in the US under the Gold Rail banner: Thomas Edward Gordon James Percy Toby Bill Ben Bertie Harold Annie Clarabel Troublesome Truck (w/ a load of coal) Foolish Freight Car (w/ a load of crates) Ffarquhar station Lower Suddery crossing and signal box Tidmouth Sheds Sodor Shipping Co. dockyard
Since then, I've managed to get the authentic Japanese Harold and Thomas (complete with siderods), Duke, Rusty, a Circus train (in the 'Topham' style from season 4), and the two Narrow Gauge Coaches (blue and red)
Strange. I never saw them over here. [glow=darkgreen,2,300]But![/glow] There is a but it now product on EBAY.com right now that has....Ahem!: Thomas, Thumper, Rusty, Skarloey, Rheneas, DUKE!, Duncan, Sir Handel and Peter sam plus some coaches and some track, ALL IN GOLDEN RAIL!!! I WANT IT!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sleeper Agent: But it does answer the apparently eternal question If you specified 'chicken egg' then it's the chicken as only it can lay a chicken egg and if the egg belongs to the newborn it's the chick's egg (and this could of become a cockerel ).

Nicholas: According to the latest theories, the egg came first containing the first chicken, it being a mutation taking place in a zygote from two proto-chickens around 58,000 years ago, themselves having evolved through thousands of years from theropods.

Nicholas: And, to come full circle, City of Truro was the first steam engine to reach a reported speed of 100mph, but Flying Scotsman was the first steam engine to reach an officially confirmed speed of 100mph.

PercyFan1998: Flying Scotsman was first gang. But I respect the idea of Truro being the possible first but I have my doubts.

Madness: I think the answer to that was mentioned on a show called 'Q.I'.

Gondarth: I keep looking for a release date for All Engines Go. I don't care about the reboot as it is, but I would laugh if it premiered on the day of my wedding (October 16th)

aspiegurl: October 2021's all I know, so it might be your wedding day

The Thomas Cynic: You could have a live screening party!

Gondarth: I would laugh if it is on the same day, but my wedding is on a Saturday, and that seems like a weird day to start airing a new show on Netflix, so I'm not holding my breath. You never know though...

TheGreenBeetle: For Father's Day today, I remembered when he was fond of Duke when I was a kid. So I shared him the video The True Stories & History Of Duke: The History Of TTTE to learn more on Duke. Special thanks to TrainBoy
