Here's something that bugs me, City of Truro's scrap model shows they used the DRG 80 smokebox door, but how come the other scrap models of Thomas, Gordon, and Donald/Douglas don't use smokebox doors from the other cannabalized DRG 55s, 78s, or 80s used to build the models in seasons 1 and 2? Also, how come we never saw any scrapped DIESELS?
Look at what we have here! I spy the original Toad and another scrap engine.
Yes, I always found this interesting. That old scrap toad appears in several episodes. Cant think of them all off the top of my head, but Im pretty it does in Thomas, Percy, and the Old Slow Coach, Emily's New Coaches, and others.
It does look a bit like it, Simon, but IIRC, Trevor only had one model which they painted up as his "Scrap" form, then painted him up in his restored form after they finished filming the scenes, and the model of Trevor used in season 3 onwards was the same season 2 model, but modified with the appropriate eye mechanisms.
Looking at it again, it just looks like it could be a front bogie wheel (belonging to an old Gordon model most likely) and I can faintly make out the spokes. The other bit that looks like his funnel could just be a random piece of debris

I just realized something. I think the scrap Toad model reveals that 'Middle Engine' was filmed before 'Scaredy Engines.' Looking at the Toad in the 'Middle Engine' yard, he's got the roof over the veranda, whereas in 'Scaredy Engines' it's gone. It wouldn't be a stretch to me to think that bit broke off in the shift between sets.

I think that Thomas Percy and Old Slow Coach was also filmed before Toby's Discovery, because if you look at the close ups of Old Slow Coach in the scrapyard, you can see what looks like the original Toad with the chasis, but in the pic from Toby's Discovery, the chasis are gone. The Scrap Toad in that episode is also likely the same one in Middle Engine, note the missing board on the roof. It seems like they gradually stripped the model down as they went along
TheGreenBeetle: Probably not a good comparison

Sleeper Agent: But it does answer the apparently eternal question If you specified 'chicken egg' then it's the chicken as only it can lay a chicken egg and if the egg belongs to the newborn it's the chick's egg (and this could of become a cockerel ).

Nicholas: According to the latest theories, the egg came first containing the first chicken, it being a mutation taking place in a zygote from two proto-chickens around 58,000 years ago, themselves having evolved through thousands of years from theropods.

Nicholas: And, to come full circle, City of Truro was the first steam engine to reach a reported speed of 100mph, but Flying Scotsman was the first steam engine to reach an officially confirmed speed of 100mph.

PercyFan1998: Flying Scotsman was first gang. But I respect the idea of Truro being the possible first but I have my doubts.

Madness: I think the answer to that was mentioned on a show called 'Q.I'.

Gondarth: I keep looking for a release date for All Engines Go. I don't care about the reboot as it is, but I would laugh if it premiered on the day of my wedding (October 16th)

aspiegurl: October 2021's all I know, so it might be your wedding day

The Thomas Cynic: You could have a live screening party!

Gondarth: I would laugh if it is on the same day, but my wedding is on a Saturday, and that seems like a weird day to start airing a new show on Netflix, so I'm not holding my breath. You never know though...

TheGreenBeetle: For Father's Day today, I remembered when he was fond of Duke when I was a kid. So I shared him the video The True Stories & History Of Duke: The History Of TTTE to learn more on Duke. Special thanks to TrainBoy
