When do the Thread Sweeps occur?
Thread Sweeps may be done once a year or once every six months, or perhaps more or less frequently than either of those two.
Will all inactive threads be swept?
If the thread appears to have been popular during its heyday, then the chances are it will be retained in the back pages of the board in question for hopes of a revival at some point. However, threads with two or three posts which haven't been posted in for months will be "scrapped".
Is the Thread Sweep similar in nature to the Member Sweeps?
The Thread Sweeps will see the inactive threads stored in "The Scrap Yard" section of the board as opposed to them being completely deleted. If the opportunity arises for them to be revived, then they can be tidied up by the staff and replaced into the forum again for activity.
Do all inactive/locked threads go to "The Scrap Yard"?
Threads that are deemed as being "special" will either be placed in the Staff Archives for private storage, or in the Sodor Island Museum section of the forum for display. Threads placed in the Sodor Island Museum will generally be those deemed memorable and important to the forum members.
Will any threads be liable to outright deletion?
Depending on how pointless or ridiculous they appear to be, then in exceptional circumstances, they will be eliminated.
Why can't we see "The Scrap Yard" section?
Majority of the threads in the Scrap Yard section are generally not necessary for viewing. The Staff Archives section is also off-limits as it's based in the Staff Room section.
