As for my original story..... well, the year was 2003. I was in front of the computer, just like I am now, and I was on Google, looking for the latest information on S6.... but after continually coming to dead ends, I eventually found the BBoy forum. After lurking for a while, I eventually joined, and made a few posts.. if not very many.
I moved with the board when we came to Aimoo.... the most annoying server we were on, and we became part of a members only forum. There was only about 16 of us, but we were happy together, and it allowed me to come out of my shell more.
After prolonged problems, we eventually moved to Hyperboards, where we stayed for quite a while, at least untill the server problems.
And now, I was told to join here... and, I'm still here.
That's more or less where I came from, and now, it's your turn. *tags*
I first joined SiF in 2004, when a dA member who was TTTE fan IM'ed me and told me about this wonderful place. I was shocked that this place was full of people near, at, and above my age (17 at the time). For years I thought that I had to be the only 17 year-old fan, but boy was I wrong!
But my computer didn't like SiF for some reason, and whenever I tried to read/post, it would crash and make me have to restart all over again. So I didn't post a lot, and was afraid I'd lose my place as a member. During a brief period of time, my computer acted alarmingly good, and that was when I did the most posting (I think I made 60 posts in three days!). But after little while, it was back to not being able to do anything on SiF.
When I got my laptop, though, things changed for the better, SiF was now no longer a website I couldn't visit. So I posted and all that until the demise of Hyperboards Server 3. I was worried when I couldn't get on that night, but I was told that SiF had died, but had been created anew, by our dear Ryan So I got the link and registered right away.
And I have been happily doing fanart and posting ever since ~^_________^~
Hmm, I joined the Hyperboards forum in August 2004, while having a look around the net for info on the fate of the RWS. Was a real "n00b" at first, knowing sod-all about real railways and with writing of a two year old, but in a year I learned so much and had the time of my life. Met up with the guys at the SIF UK Meet-Up in August 2005, and in December the Hyperboards finally died, just after I had got my laptop back. I proptly signed up once more.
Back in 2003, I first discovered this place while looking for information about the 6th series of Thomas. Then I found these boards and was amazed at some of the information I found regarding The Pack and "The Mysterious 5", as we called Spencer, Emily, Fergus, Arthur and Murdoch back then.
Liverpool, I left you Said goodbye to Madryn Street I always followed my heart And I never missed a beat
Destiny was calling, I just couldn't stick around Liverpool, I left you, But I never let you down.
Back in 2004, I was going through a rough pacth in my life and was Ill most of the time. But one day, when my Parants were on holiday and me Nan and Grandad were at home with me, I was searching for infomation on Duke, I came acroos Granpuffs site and found the link to SIF. After a couple of days of waiting to sign up, i nearlyy lost hope then i came home from me Nans to find that sign ups were on.
I joined quickly, i first called myself Dolgoch after my favorite engine. I became friends with Skarloey not to long after. After some time i was better and started to go back out to the Rallies, i was getting less interested in Dolgoch and felt i needed a name change to see my personality. Thus Road Roller, and that is what I'll remain.
Christmas was coming and the school holidays were nearly here. I logged on one day to Ryans message coming up. "SIF is gone heres the new link." I was of course shocked and joined back up straight away. I post the odd post, mainly reading and working on my Traction Engine knowlage. Still i lot to learn.

Well, about 2 years ago I was searching the net browsing for any Thomas fansites. At the time I was fasinated to know that many people in their late teens around the world still had a soft spot for an old childhood hero. I discovered this place after I joined the old TvTome forums in Febuary 2005. I did think of joining SiF but the registration was down. However my time at TvTome didn't last long, with the forum shutting down in April that year. But I did read that the registration would be back up in early May. And (suprise, suprise) that's when I joined the old hyperboards. And I've never looked back since.

Back in October 2003, when I was experiencing my rebirth of Thomas in my life, I was a member of the TVTome Thomas forums, and like here at TVTome I was also known as EdwardtheBlueEngine (June 2004-January 2005). Before that I was known as BeastBoy86, since I was part of the Teen Titans forums at TVTome, but when I started visiting that forum less and less, and vice versa with the Thomas forums, I decided that name no longer fit and lo and behold, I changed it to the Edward one, which I kept until Jaunary 2005, when I changed it to RealWilt after posting a couple times at the Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends forum. Unlike the TT forum however, I continued to visit both forums frequently until TVTome's demise in June 2005. (It changed to TV.com for those of you who don't know.)
Now, while I was a member of the TVTome Thomas forum, I kept hearing about a place called Sodor Island Forums from some of the Thomas TVTome members who were also members of SiF. Fascinated, I tried to sign up, but every time I went to the site, it said that no new members would be accepted at this time. (largely due to Fat Hatt not being around most of the time.)
Then, in April 2005, I heard that TVTome was going to be shutting down and being re-located as TV.com. I was devastated, since I had found lots of people at TVTome who were close to my age who also like Thomas, and like gotSTEAM?, I too thought I was the only 17-year-old Thomas fan (I'm 19 now). But there was a silver lining in the midst of this cloud, as Jim522 announced from the TVtome forum that Fat Hatt was back and SiF was accepting new members. Overjoyed, I jumped at the chance and on May 23, 2005, I was accepted into the SiF community, and I've been here ever since, even through the rebirth.
One last thing, I have never meet such wonderful people as you guys! You are the main reason I came to Sodor Island, to actually talk about Thomas with people who are fans of the series!
Original finding of SiF - well, as I've said many a time before, I was auditiong for The Einstein Factor on Dec 2, 2004 with a special subject of AFL Grand Finals 1897-2004 (and didn't get on). A few days before the audition, my mother suggested tongue-in-cheekily that I should ask if I could change my subject to TTTE. I took her literally and began googling. First stop - TV Tome. Didn't think it was too bad until another member spammed everything so much it began to look like an abatoir. Well, not really, but anyway...a link to Ryan's site was there, so I followed it. As you do. From there was a link to SiF...but rego was closed. So I joined Clearwater. 15 days later, rego was open and I joined. Simple, really.
I came to this site because Triple8 made it... then Ryan dragged me over here to proboards :-P
There are about 1,950 steam locomotives in the United States. About 250 of these are capable of running. At any given time, fewer than 100 can operate. Steamtown National Historic Site has three steam locomotives which can run.
I found this plave via Big Mac's Clearwater site. Tried to register in the summer, but nada. However, I knew Zorran, so I waited. Then he tipped me off that a restricted registration had happened and I leapt for it. Got in in late Oct '05, then ....2nd Dec...Kaboom. I got alerted to the enw site via the webiste.
Well, the old forum I found on Clearwater Forums. I joined in May when it finally reopened. In December, Ryan told me about the new SiF. I've been a good friend to all and a really useul member ever since.
Armada Starscream: I have a question. Is there a thread where users can post summaries of their whole head-cannon and fandom worlds? Like how they would see Sodor progress, and how they imagined things happening? Im not sure Fan THeories Explanations and Reasons is enough

splatter: Idk. That would be sick though!

9: It depends really on how you want to go about it. If you're thinking of creating your own take on Sudrian History, for example, I would suggest you try one of the fanfic-related pages of the site. Otherwise, it depends how you want to set it up

9: Although, does anyone know of any towns, villages, etc..., on Sodor that aren't connected to the Fat Controller's railway? I was thinking about using them as locations in either stories about road vehicles like Bertie, or stories that take place in history
Jul 28, 2020 10:31:40 GMT
splatter: I don't know. Considering how much of Sodor is spanned by railway lines, I doubt there'd be many villages that aren't close to or centred around a track.
Jul 28, 2020 11:01:50 GMT
Armada Starscream: 9: yes it would be on things like that, with users able to go into detail on things like fan history, backstory, and statuses of things they like to consider their own canon.
Jul 28, 2020 17:02:44 GMT
Armada Starscream: I wanted to know if there is already a thread for that, or if I or someone should create one

Parker Productions: Send your thoughts on the 'Tugs Musings and Speculations' thread

Culdee Fell: 9 As far as the Railway Series goes, Ulfstead is the obvious one.
Jul 28, 2020 18:34:51 GMT
9: Thanks! Also, did you guys happen to notice anyone we all know making a cameo appearance in a segment about Teddy Boston, in one of the latter's home movies, during a steam railway programme shown on the BBC two nights ago? I know I did!

Vought Sikorsky: In terms of other isolated areas in Sodor, there's also Balladrine, Balladwail, Ballaswein, Cabalnoo, Cregwir, Droghan-y-Claghan, Elsdale, Kellaby, Kirkleas, & Killaban, as well as Harwick.

Vought Sikorsky: Though if you're going off TVS Canon that last one would be excluded (And most likely a few others as well considering the TVS' liking of giving stations random place-names).
