"Fursona: Sodor Animal Fantasy" is a spin-off Role Playing Game adventure set within the world of Thomas the Tank Engine. With a focus on (Somewhat) human characters who embark on an adventure to save the island from an otherworldly foe...
Meet Zack Edwards, an unassuming teenager thrust into a world of furries, space wizards, and the ever omni-present American Military Industrial Complex. Meet a cast of wierd and strange characters such as Sodor's only Pastafarian priest, a space wizard, a smuggler, a kitsune from the hills of Skarloey and Rheneas among others.
For those wondering how to play the Act 1 demo without a windows computer. Relax, for there is a HTML inbrowser version for play. Also I will be posting things from the Devlog that aren't development related things as that is meant for the development thread.
I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants to experience the Thomas universe in a unique fashion with a a absolutely weird story.
For those who are into Thomas but not into games, I have made the game in way to nudge people who are new or unfamiliar to games to play through hints on what to do via dialogue and User Interface. If you guys need control information, here it is.
The Arrow Keys move your character around on screen as well used to choose attack options in battle and in decisions related to dialogue.
The Enter key accepts choices and activates selected menu options such as in the main menu or in battle
The Escape Key allows players to back out of a choice or menu, when used in the overworld segments it is used to activate the main menu.
The Shift key allows the player to dash, allowing for faster overworld movement.
If that hadn't sealed the deal yet for my fellow SiF buddies, here are a list of features in the game.
A Crafting system that allows player to make new equipment and usable items!
Ingame achievements and bestiary that tracks progress in interesting ways!
Railway Stations allow you to fast travel between towns and cities connected by the NWR!
Active Time Progress allows for dynamic battles as well as a roll-down HP and MP meters allow for interesting and riveting fights!
Individual enemies have unique pieces of music allowing for battles with different moods for different foes!
Dynamic cutscenes allow for peak storytelling and plot advancement!
Explore the Island of Sodor and surrounding areas whether by foot, by boat, by airship, or by rail!
Made in RPG Maker MZ with love and care and sweat, but mostly sweat.
I implore you to take a adventure across this forum's favorite island on a journey unlike any other! Also I will be posting more screenshots later on as well as new gameplay videos so please bookmark this if you have any interest in this project.
PercyFan1998: I think for me the issue is one of inconsistency. They took down the restored versions that have the highest quality image but will leave the lower-quality uploads all over the place.

zeldatheswordsm: Except that if you put it that way, it is consistent: They're specifically targeting the higher-picture-quality restored versions. Because gee, what's up on the streaming services and for sale on new-pressed disks? The restored versions

zeldatheswordsm: They're trying to force you to head to the paid options if you want to get the good picture quality.
May 7, 2021 1:09:31 GMT
zeldatheswordsm: Of course, in some ways the joke's on them because a lot of those restorations have worse editing and/or use inferior takes compared to the broadcast/VHS versions.

zeldatheswordsm: IMO Mattel would profit a lot more if they slashed the merch licensing fees. They were damagingly high even by the time of buyout, and have gotten worse since. And the bloated price tags have been definitely hurting sales from what I've seen.
May 7, 2021 1:16:28 GMT
zeldatheswordsm: Sales of a lot of the Bachmann Thomas rolling stock seemed to plummet as the prices jacked up based on the discontinuations (And I suspect the same hit the Hornby range even worse). And the Wooden Railway range had vanished from non-TRU bigbox stores (tbc)

zeldatheswordsm: in my area by 2015, and its shelf presence had been shrinking leading up to then. Thomas' shelf presence in general seems to have diminished a fair bit, and I imagine this is the cause. HiT and Mattel failing at distribution of the show can't have helped
May 7, 2021 1:24:55 GMT
toadthegwrbrakevan: HiT actually distributed the show very well in my opinion, good merchandise, Thomas was definitely more popular and well-to-do during the Miller era than during BWBA or today. But I agree for everything else, I'm curious about what you say about TWR,
May 7, 2021 2:53:36 GMT
toadthegwrbrakevan: growing up, the bigbox store never sold TWR, I could only get it at Barnes & Noble or Toys'R'Us, it was too expensive for Walmart or Target, that was Trackmaster territory.
May 7, 2021 2:54:29 GMT
zeldatheswordsm: For a while, Target and Mall Wart actually did stock it and decently. At least where I am. But that was in decline. Probably didn't help that Thomas-size engines were around $15
May 7, 2021 4:35:16 GMT
zeldatheswordsm: And I mean that HiT did a poor job distributing the show itself - the actual episodes. They got complacent about seeking alternatives to PBSKids even as viewing there (and govt. support) slipped into decline - and Mattel continued this complacency.
